Thats a great move. I would have disappointed if you would have launched the WAP version. WAP is long dead. I have checked the version on my handset, pages are fast, easy to read and come without horizontal scroll.

I would vouch that as smart thinking, pages look neat on my baby (N90), though I am not sure people with older models, or people without GPRS would be also saying that too.

Thanks Alex and Evan... >>though I am not sure people with older models, or people without GPRS would be also saying that too. Our target audience is tech-savvy guys out there, just like you. :) I am sure most of the readers of blogs have good phones with internet enabled features. After all bloggers and their readers are the early adopters.
If you say, your audience is only tech-savvy guys who have WiFi, GPRS and other technologies on their sets, then why do you need a mobile version at all? They can access your normal pages on their sets. You are contradicting yourself here.

I loved the mobile version. I would be spending more of my time on your blogs now than ever before. You should have done that earlier. I have already bookmarked all my favourite blogs. Good work. Cheers to Instablogs.

>>If you say, your audience is only tech-savvy guys who have WiFi, GPRS and other technologies on their sets, then why do you need a mobile version at all? Most of the mobile screens have hr. screen resolution from 128-350 px. The most common is 176px. While its true that we are having good internet connections over mobile too, but still no match to the broadband connections on our PCs. We have designed our pages so that they can fit most of the screens and are small in sizes including all the image files in the range of 20-60KB per page. I would suggest you to surf any of our sites on your mobile and see the difference. Thanks for dropping by anyways.
On why will tech-savvy folk go for mobile version of Instablogs - the idea is to give choice to the reader. This variety of choice comes into play depending on user, context or location. The above question put up by a fellow commenter is a ’just for the heck’ kind of question. No one is contradicting anything here. Stop ranting about ’the medium is the message’ Its old.

Indeed a great move. The best thing about is that this service is not network dependent, anyone with any internet-enabled mobile can access the blogs. The content is optimized as Ankit said, so no more yawns. Instablogs is always innovating. This is the best thing about this network. The dynamism of Instablogs beats other networks hands down. Congratulations! We hope to see many more such innovations in the coming days.
I’ve been surfing on my mobile for the contents and it appears wonderful, their is no point of raising the issue of ”tech-savvy guys” especially in the case of cell phones which have surpassed the so called ”tech-savvy-zone” long back and have thronged the mainstream with a bang. The pages are fast, easy to read and scroll. Great going Instablogs by reaching the hoi-polloi via the ubiquitous mobile !

Congratulations Instablogs!! Must say...it’s an innovative move. I guess it’s just the beginning and there’s a lot more to come, for Instablogs is going Great Guns!! Putting aside the debate of ”tech-savvy guys” or the ”non-tech savvy guys”, I think ”Blogs on Mobile” is great service for a hard core blogger, who just cannot miss his daily dose of news at any cost. And what more...it’s fast, it’s optimized and user friendly too!! All the Best Guys!!

This is the most convenient way of bringing together our readers to participate in our blogs and we in Instablogs seek the participation of the readers outside and inside the blogging community. Therefore, I think in reply to the question: ”If you say, your audience is only tech-savvy guys who have WiFi, GPRS and other technologies on their sets, then why do you need a mobile version at all?”, I would only say that when we consider readers we mean all those who cater to the mass opinions ( our older generation) irrespective to the fact whether they are tecchy-savvy or not.

I think you should also integrate Mobile Search. This will give more power to the readers. But anyways this is pretty good.

Hi Mike, Thanks for your suggestion. >>I think you should also integrate Mobile Search. This will give more power to the readers. But anyways this is pretty good. Heeding to it, we introduced the search feature in all our mobile sites. Now our readers are more powerful ;) Jokes apart, this was really a very good suggestion. We really appreciate such things coming from our readers. Thanks once again.

Mike.. I have send you an email, with the answers you are looking for... Cheers!
You people have redesigned so many blogs. But don`t you think its a bit strange your homepage of Instablogs is still suffering from DLDF disease.
